Flashback Friday

How could I leave 2010 without a final 2010 Flashback Friday? In the words of Antoine Dodson, "You are REALLLY dumb!"

I picked two hits from 10 years ago in the year 2000.

2010 was the year of babies...and 2011 will be the year of weddings. In my case atleast...so with that said, please enjoy this hit below.

p.s. go to the 1:48 minute mark for my favorite part. I know that rap by heart.

And you can't talk about 2000 without talking about Miss Spears.

This is her 2000 VMA performance vid...1) because it's hot as hell and 2) B's body is SICK!

Peace Out 2010

This will be my last post of 2010. I know you're all heartbroken, but tomorrow I'll be heading up to Knoxville, TN.

Then Friday, I'll be roadtripping it with these beautiful girls...

hosted by...

It's an 80's party, but I don't plan on dressing 80's. As much as I LOVE to dress up 80's, I don't really think I'll have much of a chance to get a midnight kiss if I have puffy sleeves, high hair sprayed bangs, and ice blue eyeshadow.

I promise to take lots of pictures and recap you all on the adventure that I'm SURE us 4 SINGLE girls will have.

Do y'all have any big plans for NYE? If so, be safe, have fun, and cheers!

2010...in photos

I've had an awesome 2010. Of course there were low points, but the high points outweighed them by miles. And besides, most of my "low" points are nothing compared to what some people I know have been through in 2010.

I wanted to share with you the past year in photos. There are a sh*t ton...so you were warned.

Flashback Friday

Christmas is TOMORROW! In the spirit of the holiday's, enjoy this Flashback Friday tune.

And while we're on the subject of TLC...I was OBSESSED with their Crazy, Sexy, Cool cd in 7th grade. I'm sure if my mom had listened to some of the lyrics she would have burned the CD immediately. As much as I love all of their songs from that CD...the one below is a classic!

A Christmas Story: Chapter 3

Back in 1988 or 1989, when New Kids on the Block were at the peak of their popularity...I, like every other girl on the planet was in love with them.
One Sunday at church, all my friends were talking about how they asked Santa for the New Kids on the Block barbie dolls. After church, I immediately ran to my parents hysterically crying. I had already mailed my letter to Santa that year and left off the NKOTB Barbie doll. I was so upset. My parents assured me that Santa would know. Apparently, to me, Santa was kind of like God...he knew all even if you didn't tell him directly.
Well, when I wake up Christmas morning, there was not one but TWO NKOTB dolls. And they were the cute members at that. I don't think I even specified which ones I wanted. I got the Performance Jordan Knight (complete with 4" braided rat tail) and the Casual Joey McIntyre. I also go a calendar, watch, blanket, pillow case and book.

They were a big hit among my other Barbies...not so much the one Ken doll that I had. He got the shaft for about 2 years as the Barbies played with Jordan and Joey.
And a few years ago, my dad admitted to me that he had to go to Toys R Us after my fit to get the dolls for me. I think he questioned his manhood while doing so and has admitted that's as far as he would go to buy a doll. And that's why I'm a Daddy's girl!

Ornament Swap

This Christmas I was so pumped to find out that some other blog buddies were doing an ornament swap. I participated in two.

I got partnered up with Kristen from Our Crazy Bunch that Mommy to a Lil Lady[Bug] was hosting.

I got two beautful ornaments from Kristen, but sadly the cute red and green monogrammed ornament broke on it's trip to South Carolina. But I still love my sparkly snowflakes and have them hanging in the very front of my tree.

Click HERE to see what I got Kristen.
I was partnered up with Melanie from Unexpected Surprises ornament swap.

Melanie got me these two very cute ornaments that I love. I should probably but the angel on top of my tree next year. It would be perfect up there.

Click HERE to see what I got Melanie.

Did any of you do ornaments swaps this year?! I can't wait to do it next year too!

p.s. I think I've thought of the perfect Pay It Forward gift for Christina, Kristen, and Mandy. I'll try to get them out by the first of January. :)

Flashback Friday

{how do you like my button created by Miss Mandy Mac?}

Per Christina's request I have provided a video from the Spice Girls collection for this week's Flashback Friday.

I was a fan of the Spice Girls back in the day. But I don't remember who my favorite ones were...I know I was NOT fan a of Scary and Sporty. You'd think I'd be a fan of Ginger Spice, but I think when I was 13, I thought she was a little too risque for me and plus I didn't really know what a "Ginger" was back then.

Moving on...I hope you like my selection this Friday.

Tonight I am going on a hot date with Mandy. We'll be dining and viewing Black Swan

and then pretty sure we'll be going out and raising hell in downtown Greenville. Then Saturday, I have my favorite holiday party I wait for all year long. Then Sunday, I'll be off to Hickory, NC with my dad to celebrate my aunt/namesake/his favorite sister's 80th birthday. My dad is #4 of 5 kids and she is the oldest. Fingers crossed I'll have some time to shop this weekend and find the PERFECT NYE outfit.

Hope you have an awesome weekend blog buddies! Any big plans?

Pay It Forward

The other night I had a crazy dream. A lot of my fellow blog gals were in it. Although, I've never met many of the blog gals that follow me or the blog gals that I follow I've seen pictures of you girls. See...what had happened was...in my dream a fellow blogger's grandmother had died suddenly and a lot of us blog gals were there to support her at the funeral.

But it got me thinking, although the majority of us all live far away from one another we still support each other in so many ways. I know you all have given me the best advice when I needed it. And you've also left me sweet comments to lift me up and by reading your blogs I get inspiration, motivation and just general life tips.

In the spirit of such support, Little Miss Can't Be Wrong from How I Met Your Father started a Pay It Forward project back in October. To which I gladly accepted. And last week I got my gift in the mail.

A gorgeous Lilly Pulitzer keyfob and sweet note from Little Miss herself.
She chose the gift because it reminded her of blogging like the saying "Birds of a Feather"...we stick together. So true...so true.

By agreeing to receive a gift I have to Pay It Foward to 3 other blog buddies.

Here are the rules...
1. The first THREE commentators on this post will be my three "Pay it Forward" recipients. Stipulation: You must have a blog to participate.
2. I will contact the THREE commentators to get their home address, and then ship out a fun little gift.

3. You must then be willing to host a "Pay it Forward" on your own blog for THREE blog commentators.

if you'd like to participate email your name and mailing address to sweetbefblog@yahoo.com.

The Best Part of Waking Up...

I'm sure we've all seen this Folgers commercial...

"Sister" gets on my everlasting nerve. And I think she has a crush on her big brother. You can kind of see he's creeped out when he gets that bow put on his chest. I'm pretty sure after that happens he's wishing he was still in West Africa. And "Sister" ruined the suprise of what was in the box. Or maybe she knew it was something totally lame and just didn't want to open it in front of "Peter." I'll be glad when Christmas is over so they'll quit airing this commercial (for the 2nd year).

Am I alone in this one? Please say no.

A Christmas Story: Chapter 2

I can remember Christmas when I was 6ish I got these awesome patent leather shoes with bows on the toe. {This was pre Sam & Libby bow toed shoes mind you} Being that Christmas fell on a Sunday that year, it meant I was going to get to wear a pretty dress and my new shoes. Sadly, Santa got my shoe size wrong. They were too big. My mom wouldn't let me wear them to church so I had to wear my God awful old navy blue buckle shoes (not pictured).
Upon that news, when asked to stand by the tree for a picture, this is how I posed.

What...a brat. Ah, such is life when you're an only child.

iLove Tuesday Tunes

For this edition of iLove Tuesday Tunes, I have selected two oldie Christmas hits. Sadly, they don't have the best visuals, but maybe you can just do your work at your computer and listen.

This is getting really tough to pick out my fave Christmas song...but next Tuesday i've saved the best for last. :) I hope you like it too, blog buddies.

Happy News!

Thursday night, my best friend, Kelly and her boyfriend Brad got engaged!!!! I've known Kelly since college and she is THE SWEETEST person you will ever meet. Hands down! Not only is she sweet, but she's beautiful, successful, smart, and a great friend. And Brad is handsome, sweet, and like a big brother/BFF to me.

Her and Brad have been together for 4 and a 1/2 years, so this engagement was definitely long awaited. They are a super great couple and definitely balance each other out perfectly! Let the planning begin! Can't wait for the big day next year!
