It was this blob called a Tamagotchi that lived in a keychain. And was all the rage in the late 90's. It would eat, poop, and play games. I raised and eventually killed three of these little critters.
Before all the tweens/teens carried around cell phones in school...I remember carrying these around and having to sneak peeks in class to make sure my Tamagotchi wasn't covered in digital doo-doo. Oh the horror, when you discovered the Tamagotchi had sh*t itself like 5 times and was dying because you weren't there to clean it up.
Let me add, that when I googled "tamagotchi poop" there was a real picture of what only could be human turds. That'll make you vom up your morning cereal real quick.
If you were lucky, and a good parent to your Tamagotchi then he/she would grow up and become a big bird looking thing. But then what? You could start over...or do what I did...lose the Tamagotchi and go out and buy another one.

SICK! I never had one of these, I think I was too old for them? Or maybe my Mom just wouldn't let me have them? Either way I remember the furbie babies that I thought were sooooo dumb and Liz had one. I was like Liz, you are too old for that shit. But she loved her furbie.
Kids these days, I am not letting my child have a cell phone until they are 16. Who am I kidding, I'll probably have one all set up the second they come out of the womb. I am such a pushover.
Have fun poolside this weekend (if you end up doing that). And if ATL comes on, think of me.

OH MY GOSH. I was a Tamagotchi freak back in the day!! I think I had like three or four. I remember getting a note sent home saying I needed to not bring them to school. I was SO embarrassed. And mortified because what would my little pet do without me ALL day??
And I student taught 3rd grade and pretty sure they all had a nicer cell phone than me. They are 8 and I am 23. Yeah....something not right about that! Kids don't know what they are missing out on today! Aka Tamagotchis!!

Oh my gosh!! I remember those! I would get them at the bowling ally vending machine and they were the things that got us in trouble at school before cell phones. HAHA aww.

Oh wow I had a Tamagotchi and the Nano pets that were like Dogs and Cats and Fish. I actually bought one a few years ago for my nephew's Birthday but in all actuality I wanted it for myself....They still have them at Kmart, I may have to blow some $ tomorrow for memories sake.

I used to make my poor mother take my Tamagotchi to work since we weren't allowed to take them to school. She killed it one day and I think I was mad at her for a whole week. haha
