Happy Ginger Day!

If the red hair doesn't give it away, yes I'm Irish. And like most Irish (and white) people, we like to celebrate St. Patrick's Day by wearing green and getting hammered beyond control. I've celebrated many a St. Patrick's Day in Columbia at their St Pat's in 5 Points celebration. I thought I would share some photos with you over the years...
2005 was when I lost my St Pat's in 5 points virginity. I aquired some out of town guests to share with me in the experience...and I think one of them peed in the corner of a bar.
The picture above portrays a little fun we had before venturing down to 5 points that year. My friends who lived closeby the shin-dig got a keg and we decided to do a 3 legged chug race. You chug a beer, go to the other end, chug another beer, and back. I can't remember who won...or even if my partner and I made it back to the other side. But...we did make it to 5 points...but we were back home before the sun even went down. I'm pretty positive this picture was taken before noon.
This was my first St Pats in 5 Points after moving out of Cola (Columbia for all you non-SC natives). As you can tell from the photo it was indeed a shitshow. This picture was taken AFTER we crashed a house party and ate "dinner" at Subway. And I'm pretty sure after this photo was taken, I got up on the bar...to dance...duh! Where else do girls dance in bars? Did I mention while watching an Irish band earlier in the day, we got pushed to the side for being in someone's "dancing space." I can kind of relate, I mean, who ever wants to have their dance space interrupted...BUT...it wasn't crowded at all.
2008...yet indeed another shitshow. It rained that year...so at one point, we had to run into a bar to take cover. Perfect place! Once the sun went down we ate dinner to refuel...bought more beer...played drinking games at the hotel...and then back out for more fun! 12+ hours of drinking = lack of memory.

And this was last year...we got there early (like 1pm) and immediately started drinking. Ran into old friends and made them part of our "crew" until they wanted to go into a bar with a cover charge...PA-LEEZ! Pretty sure this was another 12+ hour fiesta! Funniest thing about this trip...when we arrived, we checked into our hotel. Get to the room...put the key in...open the door...and there is a lady in a wheelchair eating food out of a styrofoam to-go plate and her "hubs" (I assume) was on the bed lying down. Yeah, we turned around, went back down and asked for "the room without the lady in it, please."
