Flashback Friday

Well, I'm sure there are some teens out there gearing up for Prom which usually comes around April/May in these parts.

At my high school, we have a Junior-Senior Prom. The Juniors form a Prom Committee and they are in charge of decorations, theme, souveniers, (you know those stupid champagne flutes, etc), tickets, etc. The Juniors pick a song for all the Seniors to dance to, which is also the prom theme. The Juniors also get to pick a song for their class to dance to with their dates. I think my Junior year we chose "This I Promise You" by N'Sync as the Junior dance.

Well, in 2000...this was the lovely song choice we chose as our theme. I'm Your Angel was etched onto plastic glitter picture frames and classy champagne flutes for purchase.

On to 2001, I was a senior...but my beautiful friend, Sandi was a Junior that year and her class got to pick out our song/theme.

And here is a picture of my handsome date and I.

Yes, this is for real. And I'm pretty sure he wore that hat the whole time too. Oh, the South! Did I mention my high school's name is Dixie High? What do you expect?

Did your prom have theme songs? If so, what were they?

i am laughing so hard because i graduated in 2001 and this brought back so many memories (minus the truck on lifts or whatever it is called)! i can't recall my prom's theme song, but our graduation song was the eve 6 song "here's to the night" or something! goodness..so many great memories!

have a great weekend!

I think Jessica Simpson "I wanna love you forever" was a song one time. Senior Year it was something...but we unofficially adopted "Let's Get it On" as our senior song. Guess who got it on on prom night? Def NOT me and my date...

I love that your high school was named Dixie High! Awesome. Mine was named Harlem High...instant ghetto judgement usually follows, although it wasn't. =)

Nice picture! what fun to look back on.

We had a Jr./Sr. Banquet too. No one wore ball caps to prom, but a few wore cowboy hats. Dixie High? Ha. Love it.

Oh my gosh! SClub7! I LOVED THAT SONG!!!!!

Our format was the same, and when I was a senior, the song was "Always" by Bon Jovi!

I am dying! LOVE this post.

I used to be obsessed with S Club 7 and their t.v. show. Most of the guys at my high school drove lifted trucks too-I ripped the train of my prom dress attempting to climb into my date's truck. Oh the memories. This pretty much made my day!

oh man, that picture is priceless. and "dixie high"? for real?

I can't believe the juniors got to choose your prom song! at my school the seniors picked their own prom song (though we had a junior/senior prom too; the seniors always planned the entire thing). My junior year our song was "Never Say Goodbye" by Bon Jovi and my senior year my class chose "Say Goodbye" by Dave Matthews. Funny. Especially since the latter is a song about a one night stand.
