Flashback Friday

It took me a while to figure out what to do for this week's Flashback Friday. Then while texting my friend, I thought to myself "gah, what did I do before texting?" I'm pretty sure I had to actually call people if I wanted to find out where they were or what they were doing or if they wanted to sleep over Friday night. I'm sure it was painful, but I obviously made it on the other side alive. Speaking of talking on the phone, I had my two hour long girlfriend chat for probably the first time in months the other night...talking on the phone CAN be fun if you're talking to another fun person...shout out to Devin! ;)

Where was I? Oh yes...remember these?

The first car phone or bag phone as my family refered to them. It even came with a shoulder strap for easy transport from one car to another. And that loud beep it made when you turned it on.
Then I remember, my dad got this phone and I thought he was way cool. I remember after spending weekends at his house and he would drive me back to my mom's I would pretend I was talking to someone on the phone in the car while passing other cars. I wanted them to be jealous of my massive flip phone. I'm pretty sure they were...who wouldn't be?!

Now, I can barely imagine my life before a smartphone. And now that I have the DroidX, I don't understand how I survived with my Blackberry for so long.

it wasn't only what those car phones looked like...but what they COST! they were sooo expensive and you would get like 100 minutes with them and above that be charged ridiculous fees. don't miss those days! (though cell phone companies do still find ways to rip us off)

We had a car phone! It was so strange thinking back on it now that you couldn't actually use it without it being plugged in to the cigarette lighter.

My parents had both phones - the brick and the flip! Ahh! I remember thinking I was SO bad ass when I used them!

Oh yes. My dad had one of the bag phones, except he had it mounted in his car so we couldn't use it anywhere else. Pretty sweet, huh? Sometimes I still wish I had a phone mounted in my car so I wouldn't have to dig for it when it rings while I'm driving. Haha.

OMG those phones are huge! HAHA I linked up twice it seems, I didn't see my name was already there but that was my old SBTB one. I did it before I realized.

Hope you have a great weekend! :)

Hahahah omg, me and my family were talking about these phones today. My step-dad still has the big one in the cupboard. So funny. My mom was like, "I'll give you 20 dollars to go into public and act like it's your phone." I was like I'll do that for free it's hilarious!!

xo.

My friend's mom had one of those cell phone backpack type things. It was crazy huge, but we all thought she was super cool.
