I'm pretty sure Sandi and I have corrupted Courtney to the point of no return...but that's okay. We turned out alright! She also followed in our footsteps all the way to the University of South Carolina and was in ZTA like her big sister! She just graduated and I know only good things are yet to come for this gorgeous little gal!
Can't wait to celebrate with you SOOOOON, Miss Thang! Love you and Happy Birthday, sweet girl!
I am linking up with the adorable Michelle from A Little Bit of This & That to showcase the lovely city in which I reside...
I've been living in Greenville, SC for almost 4 years now and I love it! It's about 45 minutes away from where I grew up (so the family and friends aren't too far away) and a little over an hour away from my college city aka the capital of South Carolina...Columbia. Go Gamecocks!
Greenville is in what we call the "Upstate" of SC. You can see the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance. In fact, I see them on my drive to work everyday.
It's also very close to some other big cities...
Greenville has a great downtown area with great restaurants, bars, and shops. It's perfect for families, singles (holla!), and couples. Each place has their own atmosphere, so if you ever visit you'll definitely be able to find something that fits you!
If you go a little further down Main Street...you'll run into the "West End" area with some awesome scenery...
Greenville is also home to the minor league baseball team, the Greenville Drive. The Drive are the affiliate team for the Boston Red Sox.
We also have major concert venues...
The Bi-Lo Center in the past two months has held concerts for Justin Bieber, Sugarland, Kid Rock, and Prince will be here TONIGHT!
And then we have the Peace Center which offers a more "intitmate setting"...
They've had John Legend, Harry Connick Jr., Huey Lewis and the News, and comedians like Bob Newhart, Kathy Griffin, Lewis Black. They also host a lot of theatrical shows and Broadway plays.
Greenville, SC has also had it's place on the big screen. Some of the backdrops (mainly the hotel scenes) for the movie Leatherheads (hated the movie, bee-tee-dub) were filmed downtown in Greenville. This was when my love for John Krasinski was just starting and I wanted to leave work every single day just so I could hope to get a glimpse. Too bad the majority of his scenes here were out in some pastures playing football.
