Just in Time for Halloween...

If you follow me on Twitter or we're friends on Facebook, then you probably already know of my current "situation."

In the wee hours of Saturday morning, I took a bad tumble on the cement portion of steps at my apartment. Lucky me. Yes, alcohol was involved. Lots of it. And had not said alcohol been involved I probably would have a felt a lot worse. Luckily, none of the pain started until around noon on Saturday.

Let's see...what didn't I hurt?

My right knee is completely swollen. It feels like there is a tiny 3-5 lb weight hanging underneath my knee. My left knee is just bruised and scraped. No pain. Saturday night into Sunday morning I thought I had shattered my knee cap because of the pain. I couldn't walk/hobble without crying. I was convinced it was shattered and I was going to need to have major surgery to repair it. Luckily...just severely swollen.
My right thumb is swollen and black/blue. I thought it was broken, but X-rays have shown it is not. Thank goodness!

When the doctor walked into the urgent care exam room said to me..."Geez. You look worse than my last 10 car wreck victims."

Also, Saturday my friends Kristen and Vivian noticed the huge knot on my forehead. Kristen told me I looked like a caveman it was so big. Thanks friend.

Well, when I woke up Sunday I couldn't really see out of my right eye. Upon looking into the mirror on Sunday this is what was looking back at me.

The doctor says the blood from the knot in my forehead is trailing down my face and that's what is making my eye(s) so gross and red.

Eye make-up seems to help, but they are still puffy.

So this is usually what I look like when I'm at home. Trying to turn my caveman forehead into a normal one.

Unfortunately, this isn't the first alcohol induced injury i've sustained. Remember this? This is obviously the worst. But in all seriousness, someone out there is watching over me because it could have been a WHOLE lot worse. I have to start counting my blessings more often and thanking God that I'm still able to type these words to you on this little blog.

Oh my goodness girl, that was QUITE the tumble. the entire time I was reading this I was flashing back to last summer when I was being drunky on a yacht and twisted my ankle because I fell down the stairs (and almost in the ocean) and how my ankle was HUGE and I had bruises all.over.me.

what is it with you and Lindsey and alcohol and accidents? I swear I drink more than both you put together (and no Im NOT proud of that fact) and I still don't have the awesome war wounds that you two get.

Maybe I need to start hanging out with you girls :)

lmao to all the comments and lol irl to "upon looking into the mirror on Sunday this is what was looking back at me."

What did you tell PONE?? lol irl to that pic of him with his balls showing. NOT OK.

Get better soon friend. We need to reevaluate our lifestyles. And by lifestyles I mean drinking habits. I type this as I drink wine for the first time in 3 days, which sadly, is quite a feat. AA, I'm coming for you.

omg pleeease be careful!!! here's my short story. once upon a time, i went to atlantic city with my girlfriends, had a few too many drinks, wore strappy sandal heels with no ankle support, stood up from a couch, slipped and broke my femur in THREE PLACES. major surgery, a metal rod, some screws and my leg has never been the same. moral of the story = be careful! hahahaha..... so i FEEL your pain SISTA!
